MedilinkUK has redesigned its website, positioning it as the industry platform for UK life sciences (www.medilinkuk.com). The website is intended to bring together views and fresh thinking from business, the public sector, entrepreneurs, academics, trade associations and scientists. The outcome of these exchanges will help shape the life sciences market and influence Government policy affecting the industry.
The website is set to launch with a provocative webcast on 24 February and will bring together thought leaders from across the sector. Taking place at Birmingham Science Park, Aston, both the live audience and those watching online can put questions and comments to the panel which includes Peter Ellingworth from ABHI, Dr Allison Jeynes-Ellis from ABPI, the BIA’s Nigel Gaymond and Colin Andrews, BIVDA.
Hosted by Tony Davis, the webcast is set to address the question: “Is the UK a viable market for life science companies?” This is based on the recent report funded by the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills, UK Trade & Investment and the Department of Health which found that industries attached to the £15bn life sciences sector will play a key role in building a stronger UK economy and meeting future healthcare challenges.
Areas for discussion on this topic will include whether the NHS is an economic driver for the UK economy; the necessary shift to prevention and diagnostics within the NHS and how individuals need to become responsible for their wellness and early detection of issues. You are invited to participate in the webcast at 12 noon on Wednesday 24 February by visiting www.medilinkuk.com
