Medica, a teleradiology company, has signed up seven more NHS acute Trusts as healthcare organisations seek to improve their services in the face of continuing high demand for speedy diagnostics. CEO Simon Rasalingham said that demand for high quality and cost-effective outsourced services continues to be very high as Trusts prepare to meet the Government’s diagnosis-to-treatment targets.
The seven latest Trusts who will be using Medica’s nationwide service are: Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust, Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust, Weston Area Health NHS Trust in Weston-super-Mare, Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust in Birmingham, Mayday Healthcare NHS Trust in London and Hinchingbrooke Healthcare NHS Trust in Huntingdon.
“We are currently working with almost 50 NHS Trusts to enable them to keep on top of their imaging throughput,” said Simon Rasalingham: “Our research shows that typically healthcare organisations have done a tremendous job of reducing wait timings for MR & CT scans across the board but keeping this momentum going seven days a week, 365 days a year is proving ever more difficult”.
Medica now provides an MRI/CT Dayhawk service with a sub-30 minute turnaround to help Trusts meet the new Stroke guidelines and a CT Nighthawk service for NICE head injury guidelines - both time-critical services are delivered by experienced, UK-trained and UK-based consultant radiologists equipped with MEDICA supplied teleradiology systems.
