Improving safety for both staff and patients

STERIS Solutions UK has leveraged its expertise in the latest technology in a bid to provide versatile and easy-to-use surgical table systems. The wide range of surgical tables and accessories are built for today’s operating room environments and budgets.

Today, STERIS Corporation holds one of the broadest portfolios of global healthcare products in the industry. In the UK, STERIS Solutions stands at the forefront of design, manufacturing and service to offer innovative and tailored solutions. The company continues to broaden its reach, with a focus on providing safety for staff and patients, through products to help users gain efficiency improvements, without compromising on quality or value.

When it comes to surgical tables, Eschmann has always set the bar in the UK Market. According to STERIS Solutions, the Eschmann surgical table range has always stood out for its excellence, as proven by its Customers’ loyalty.

Now, with the availability of two new models: Eschmann CMAX 3E and CMAX 3EDrive, the range allows us the specialist to accurately respond to surgeons’ needs, whatever their discipline. At 58cm, this is a record low height.

The tables are the outcome of continuous consultation with surgeons and doctors, in order to provide the solution for positioning patients for minimally invasive surgery (MIS). By combining a 45º Trendelenburg and extreme slide, the Eschmann CMAX 3E surgical table is suitable for bariatric surgery (up to 500Kg), bringing the lowest height to 27cm.

The concept of powered transfer on the Eschmann CMAX 3E-Drive has completely redesigned the management of patient flow and opened up a myriad of new possibilities for organising the surgical suite. With powered transfer, moving patients in and around the surgical suite becomes safe and easy.

XLED tailor-made surgical lights

The surgical lighting systems are designed to enhance the precision of the surgical procedure and patient safety.

A configuration of STERIS surgical lights are available that respond to all applications, both simple and complex. Developed and assembled in Europe, the XLED surgical lighting systems are of optimal quality and are designed to be in sync with users’ needs. The XLED modular and configurable range is suitable for all types of surgery and budgets a tailor-made surgical lighting system that is 100% personalised.

Build your own XLED surgical lights with:

  • XTND Suspension (height, length, central or dual mounted installation, number of suspensions)
  • Spots and light heads (from one to four spots, and up to three head lights on a single arm)
  • Fixed or adjustable colour temperature with an R9 index of 97
  • Choice of options (HD or 4K Vividimage surgical grade monitors, plug and play cameras, sterilisable handle).

The HexaLux examination light has all of the advantages of XLED technology to ensure an excellent quality of light, everywhere in the hospital.

To adapt to all areas, HexaLux exists in three configurations, wall-mounted, ceilingmounted or mobile stand. This latest version provides a built-in optional battery which provides total autonomy for more than 6.5 hours, and is ideal for mobile use.

The new AIRport equipment management system has also been designed to address the constraints of modern operating rooms. It saves space for both teams and equipment, is flexible and functional to adapt to surgical evolution, and has ITU compatible configurations.

The system is based on a low-profile column. The arms are designed to provide the precise positioning of the user requirements, with a weight capacity up to 500Kg. The design also provides advanced drift control, making the need for brakes an option rather than a requirement. Ergonomically, it has rounded shapes, small surfaces and a limited number of screws or cavities for safety and infection control.

AIRport provides these systems based on years of experience in OR design.

From the anaesthetic to the surgical side, AIRport is designed to be adaptable to the needs of the entire surgical team. The supply head placed at the top of the anaesthesia station provides all connections required without increasing the footprint in the OR.

On the surgical pendant, the endoscope column can be easily connected to the video management system and utilise the built in cable management system.

One Solution:  Infinite Connections.

Harmony iQ Integration Systems provide a simple, single point of control  that allows surgical teams to route all the images, video, audio and data  they need to any monitor, recording device or remote location. The systems also control operating theatre infrastructure such as room and surgical lights, in-light and wall camera, music systems and video conferencing systems.

Project management

The STERIS Solutions UK dedicated project design management team (PDM) configure products as required, and visualise where users will want to use it.

The company has developed its own software solution to configure the products and show users how they will be implemented into an OR. STERIS Solutions is also able to create all of its pendants based on customers’ inputs. From the size of the arms to the length of the column, the product is built together to ensure it meets the requirements, both functionally as well as physically. The utilities and accessories are also selected and placed where users need them, and the outcome of this provides a visual rendering of a future operating room.

As an expert and partner to health professionals, STERIS Solutions UK brings a new vision of the operating theatre with the complete ORigami solution, including:

  • Operating tables
  • Integration systems
  • Surgical lighting
  • Distribution arms
  • Claddings
  • Doors

Service: Installation and commissioning

STERIS Service offers a range of solutions to assist the process, including off-loading equipment, positioning, connection to utilities and full commissioning. All activities are closely managed by its project management team in a bid to deliver a seamless and effective solution.

Equipment lasts longer and has less downtime if it is regularly maintained in a planned and consistent manner. STERIS’ contract offerings help increase mean time between failure (MTBF) rates, and regular maintenance can be planned around specific needs and operations. A number of service agreements are available and every level of coverage comes with technical support, genuine STERIS parts and detailed service documentation.
