Tests confirm limescale reduction

Testing of WaterMatic’s KalGuard+ electrolytic scale inhibitor at Cranfield University has confirmed a reduction in limescale on heating surfaces of 80%.
KalGuard+ is a completely new scale inhibitor (patent applied for), based on the company’s proven zinc anode electrolytic design and incorporating electronic controls to precisely match the levels of zinc to the hardness of the water.

Testing at Cranfield was carried out in parallel with extensive field trials in commercial and industrial applications and found to totally control the limescale situation in numerous very hard water areas.

The product uses a zinc anode to release small quantities of zinc into the water. These zinc ions act as a seeding ground for the salt crystals, where they stay in suspension so they are washed through without sticking to surfaces. Using electronic controls developed by WaterMatic, the release of zinc is matched to the hardness of the water to ensure optimum performance. So the installer only needs to measure hardness and choose the appropriate setting on the controller.
