‘Nil by Mouth’ wristband to save lost theatre time

Delays and cancellations of theatre slots are about to be drastically reduced due to a newly designed bracelet from BRENMOOR.

The concept for the wristband came from an NHS theatre worker who saw first-hand how money was being lost through delays and cancellations because a patient had eaten or drunk when they should have been fasting in the hours before a procedure. The solution is a wristband which is worn by the patient as both a fasting reminder to the patient and also to members of staff that come into contact with the patient in the hours before the procedure. The wristband has unmistakeable red and black warning circles and areas for staff to hand write onto the wristbands the times when a patient should be fasting from. It is able to be applied in seconds. Each box is supplied with a laminated poster to increase awareness for staff members and more copies can be downloaded and printed directly from the Brenmoor website.
