Its members are actively involved in the medical engineering profession and come from all over the world, benefiting from free membership, which they are able to enjoy due to the support of sponsors. The website also links with other sites, and other EBME sites from across the globe, giving access to Biomeds from all over the world. The portal allows members to share information, chat, joke, and be serious, in the same way as many EBME departments actually communicate – while at the same time raising the profile of the medical engineering community.
