Sunlight Clinical Solutions, on their stand at AfPP, calculated how much money could be saved by hospitals and Trusts switching from single-use gowns to the Protex multi-use gown service. Visitors also learned by how much this would reduce their clinical waste and were shown the high quality of the Protex gowns.
.
The Protex gowns exceed the requirements of EN13795 throughout their lives, while the reduction in clinical waste offered by multi-use gowns and drapes provides a considerable step towards hospitals’ targets for the reduction of CO² emissions. The processing sites also use low phosphate detergents, and recycling systems that minimise usage of water and energy.
With material and manufacturing costs spread over multiple uses, the gowns provide cost advantages despite being made from high quality materials and having features such as welded sleeve seams, snap fastening and breathable, static dissipative panels.
Protex gowns and drapes are thoroughly decontaminated and thermally disinfected at facilities that process only surgical textiles. Each item is inspected on a light table before being packed in clean rooms constructed to ISO14644 Class 8 standards and protected by a positive pressure environment and HEPA filtered air. Packs are sterilized at 134° according to HTM2010.
All Processing of Protex gowns and drapes takes place in the UK. For more information please e-mail Protex@sunlight.co.uk or call 0121 457 7088.
