Hot drinks could reduce MRSA in the nasal cavity

A recent “Tea and Coffee consumption and MRSA nasal carriage study” from Matheson et al highlighted how both tea and coffee are associated with a lower likelihood of carrying MRSA in the nasal cavity.

Dr Euan Paul, executive director of the British Coffee Association, said: “These results suggest that moderate coffee consumption may reduce your chances of carrying the MRSA virus in your nostrils, however more research is required to explain these findings.”
