A charity consortium has been formed to aid the development of the latest version of a paediatric online training programme for use by healthcare professionals across the UK.
Commissioned by the Department of Health (DH), the Spotting the Sick Child (www.spottingthesickchild.co.uk) went live in 2009 and work has now begun on producing the third edition. Spotting the Sick Child offers help with diagnosis of the seven most common acute problems that children present with – rashes, breathing difficulties, dehydration, fever, fits, abdominal pain and head injury. The consortium has received additional funding from the department to upgrade and plan the third edition, which is due for completion in early summer.
