Closed IV catheter system

BD MEDICAL has launched its latest BD Nexiva Closed IV Catheter System designed to reduce healthcare workers’ risk of needlestick injuries and minimise exposure to blood.

The system includes the BD Q-Syte Luer Access Split Septum to help reduce catheter-related bloodstream infections. The new version introduces key developments, including: • New non-removable pinch clamp for easy, one-handed activation. • Soft stabilisation platform designed to decrease catheter movement and associated complications, while providing greater patient comfort. • New catheter grip design which accommodates the various insertion techniques employed by clinicians. • Larger bore extension tubing on 18G and 20G cannulas for improved flow rates.
