The Infection Prevention Society (IPS), which represents professionals working in infection prevention and control, has launched its new IPS Impact Awards programme.
Sponsored by GOJO Industries, the awards aim to recognise and celebrate initiatives undertaken by its members that demonstrate excellence, innovation or improvement in infection prevention and control (IPC) practice, service delivery or education.
IPS President, Jennie Wilson, says: “We are really pleased to announce our new IPS Impact Awards. Not only does this new approach extend the opportunity for our members to have their work recognised but it also enables all of us to share and learn from each other.”
Categories of Impact Award:
Applications can be made for an award under the following categories:
1. Award for Excellence – Aiming for and achieving the best in IPC practice or education
2. Award for Patient Experience – Putting the patient at the centre of IPC practice
3. Award for Nurturing IPC talent – Supporting the development of the IPC workforce of the future
Gold, Silver and Bronze awards will be made for the best submissions in each category. Successful initiatives will demonstrate how the work has contributed to the IPS mission: to inform, promote and sustain evidence-based infection prevention policy and practice to create a health and care system where no person's health and wellbeing is harmed by preventable infection.
