The Central Sterilising Club’s 60th Anniversary Annual Scientific Meeting will take place on 4-5 April 2022, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Stratford Upon Avon. This event not only presents the chance to learn but also provides the opportunity to network with multi-disciplinary decontamination practitioners from across the UK.
Some of the many highlights during the Annual Scientific Meeting will include the Annual Kelsey Lecture, titled: “Past Present and Future: A lifetime experience of decontamination and infection control”, by Peter Hoffman; a debate between Wayne Spencer and Sulisti Holmes based on the theme: “Is this a dagger I see before me: do hospitals lack the expertise to function safely without an AE(D)?”; “Fluid dynamics and microbiology of surgical instrument trolleys”, by Andrew Thomas; and “Occupational exposure in the decontamination department” by Caroline Drew. There will also be a discussion on water microbiology and endoscope reprocessing, by Dr. David Jenkins; and an insight into ventilation standards for decontamination departments, by Malcolm Thomas.
Other themes on the agenda include protein detection and removal; the future of qPCR testing; a new rapid testing method for Mycobacteria; creating a more sustainable endoscopy decontamination process; and much more...
CPD points will be available for those attending the meeting.
