Nanosonics is hosting a ‘Decontamination of Ultrasound Probes Study Day’, at Ardencote Hotel, Warwick, on Wednesday 6th April 2022, following the success of its 2019 session.
Guest speakers will help delegates to understand the risks, to better protect patients and staff from infection, as well as enabling staff to identify decontamination responsibility.
The CPD accredited Study Day will feature presentations by leading experts, who will be providing valuable insights into decontamination of ultrasound probes, covering topics such as ‘When decontamination goes wrong – why we need a validated process’, ‘Traceability – our last line of defence?’ and ‘Probing questions – introducing an Infection Prevention Toolkit’. The educational programme will also include case studies, clinical user insights and expert guidance from decontamination leads.
Nanosonics supported the development of the Ultrasound Infection Prevention Toolkit, a free peer-reviewed resource brought to life by a collective of clinical decontamination experts in the UK and Ireland.
The Study Day will raise awareness of the Toolkit, which contains four editable tools to assist with locating ultrasound probes within an organisation, assessment of procedure-specific ultrasound policy and practice, and the development of policies that can be implemented at various levels.
