Disgraced NHS manager to sue

A former Trust chief, who found herself at the centre of a scandal over hygiene standards, has announced plans to sue.

Following an investigation into 90 deaths from C.diff, the former head of the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, Rose Gibb, agreed to stand down. She rejected an initial offer of up to £75,000 in severance pay, by the Trust, which made the offer despite the Health Secretary’s suggestion that payment should be withheld pending legal advice. She claims that a “compromise agreement” was signed and is looking to recover an undisclosed sum through the High Court.
