ABHI leadership team to share industry knowledge at Medica

The Association of British HealthTech Industries (ABHI) has announced it will be taking key members of its senior leadership team to Medica 2019, in a bid to offer knowledge, expertise and support to all of its UK exhibitors.

Taking place from 18-21 November in Dusseldorf, Germany, Medica attracts over 5000 exhibitors from 70 countries and plays host to tens of thousands of visitors every year. The ABHI UK Pavilion will be located in hall 16.

Attending the international exhibition in Dusseldorf will be:

  • Richard Phillips, director, healthcare policy. Richard joined ABHI in June 2015 with over 20 years’ experience in the Life Sciences. With strong connections into the NHS and its leadership structures, Richard has a great understanding of policy, NHS direction and the opportunities for UK companies. Richard also leads on ABHI’s Brexit work
  • Phil Brown, director, technical and regulatory. Phil has years of experience of working with novel technologies and liaising with national authorities, the European Commission, trade associations and standards bodies on issues related to regulation and ethics. Phil has deep knowledge of HealthTech regulation in the UK and Europe and has currently supporting companies in their transition to the regulations
  • Andrew Davies, director, market access. Andrew has responsibility for ensuring that processes are aligned and optimised to support the introduction and uptake of technologies and best practices. This entails creating an ongoing dialogue between industry and policy makers to ensure efficient and effective access and payment structures are created and maintained. In addition to the Market Access portfolio, Andrew also leads on the ABHI Ethics and Compliance program. This includes credentialing, Code of Business Practice and Human Rights. His expertise are being used increasingly to provide insights into the digital health agenda.

Paul Benton, managing director, international at the ABHI said: “Richard, Phil and Andrew will be on hand to offer support, answer questions and share their expertise with UK companies. It is the first time we have taken the ABHI leadership team to Medica and it’s all part of our commitment to offer full support to the companies that exhibit with us.”

Exhibitors at the ABHI UK Pavilion will also be able to take advantage of ABHI’s full Medica package, which includes access to on-site German translators, invitations to exclusive networking events, inclusion in ABHI’s complimentary PR and marketing activities and access to ABHI’s support stand and refreshments.
