The international healthcare industry was,once again,spoiledforchoice at this year’s Medica, the world’s largest medical trade event whichtoo k place in Düsseldorf. With a broad range of exhibitors and conferences, the event provided insight into the latest innovations, research, and technology.
Medica took place from 12 to 15 November 2018 and attracted 5,273 exhibitors from 66 countries, with an international share of more than 80% - a new record for the organisers. Compamed, which ran in conjunction also continued its record run with 783 exhibitors from 40 states.
The four day trade fair attracted around 120,000 visitors, with an international share of approximately two thirds from 155 countries. According to Wolfram Diener, CEO of Messe Düsseldorf, visitors were treated to the most extensive and international yet. “Nowhere else in the world will you find the entire process chain of innovations for the development, manufacture and marketing of medical devices, products, instruments and high-tech solutions presented in such a seamless manner and broached in hundreds of speeches by renowned experts,” he said.
Diener previously held a leadership position at another trade fair host in Asia where he gained insight into markets, structures and a focus on innovation in various countries. “At Medica, visitors can see for themselves what is generally possible with regard to modern outpatient and clinical care, and in which areas new processes and care models are being used in a promising way,” he continued.
