The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) recently announced the addition of three new non-executive board members.
Dr Margaret Helliwell has replaced Susanna Lawrence. Margaret is a practising GP with over 25 years’ experience of working in the health service. She is currently also a national GP Adviser to the Department of Health and the Deputy Medical Director for Airedale Hospital in West Yorkshire.
Professor Rona McCandlish replaces Mary McClarey.Rona works for the National Perinatal Epidemiology Unit at Oxford University, as an epidemiologist specialising in maternal health.
Prof McCandlish is Chair of the NCC for Women’s and Children’s Health, and has recently been the Chair of the postnatal care guideline development group. In addition, Frederick George has been re-appointed.
