Managing medical equipment and devices

The EBME seminar is an independent educational event that brings together healthcare professionals who are responsible for the management of medical equipment. This year’s event took place at the Milton Keynes Double Tree Hilton Hotel. Alec Peachey reports.

With the goal of imparting best practice for healthcare technology management (HTM) and raising awareness of how improved management of healthcare technology can lead to improved NHS productivity and lower healthcare costs, this year’s EBME seminar had a lot to live up to.

Expectations were met with a number of interesting presentations and a lively debate entitled ‘Should EBME technicians get manufacturers’ training as well as generic training?’

In addition to the seminar programme, the event also featured an exhibition with companies invited to showcase the latest innovations in healthcare technology and services.
