Siemens Medical Solutions is partnering with the Medical Diagnostic & Imaging Group (MDI), which provides one stop solution centres for patient care, providing consultation, diagnosis and specific treatment. .
MDI's recently opened Weybridge Diagnostic Centre is equipped with Siemens technology and has successfully attracted users such as the Elite Sports teams, and Sports Orthopaedics Spinal, a leading musculo-skeletal practice.
The UK healthcare market has been heavily influenced by major changes in Government strategy to deal with growing numbers of patients more effectively, moving healthcare into the community, providing patient choice of health provider and using a mix of private/public partnerships to achieve strategic targets.
Astable market with established players has changed to a more dynamic one with new entrants to the market and even the UK itself. MDI is one of a group of new entrants to this market whose philosophy is to provide excellent equipment and facilities that attract the highest calibre of clinicians and surgeons in an environment where patients would want to come.
It supports the view that earlier diagnosis, combined with prompt and appropriate treatment is the most effective way to deliver healthcare to the community and believes that its centres facilitate this.
Its aim is to provide a one-stop solution for patient care providing consultation, diagnosis and specific treatment. Away from hospital environments, these centres reinforce the principle that the patient is still in control and can actively improve his or her health.
The Weybridge centre is the second of three projects in which Siemens, working closely with MDI, has shown that an enhanced understanding of the customer’s needs and goals can provide benefits to both parties. The customer focused view is recognised by the team of engineers who have installed Siemens systems for the whole imaging department, including MAGNETOM Espree (MRI), Sensation 64 (CT), Novation DR (digital mammography), Multix M (digital X-ray), Antares (ultrasound), and ECAM Signature (dual-headed Gamma camera). “Highly driven projects like Weybridge can be a challenge for all parts of an organisation from supply chain to customer relationship management, but it is highly rewarding to develop the meaningful relationships that secure our future,” said David Wilkins, corporate business manager, Siemens Medical Solutions.
