An insight into the key themes and innovations being explored at the British Society of Gastroenterology’s annual conference and exhibition.
The British Society of Gastroenterology’s annual conference and exhibition takes place at the ACC Liverpool, 20-23 June 2016. Whether you are coming to see the day of live endoscopy, or keen to hear speakers from the international GI community, there is something for everyone at this year’s event.
The British Society of Gastroenterology is a registered charity focused on the promotion of gastroenterology within the United Kingdom. It has over three thousand members drawn from the ranks of physicians, surgeons, pathologists, radiologists, scientists, nurses, dietitians, physiologists and others interested in the field. Founded in 1937, it has grown from a club to be a major force in British medicine, with representation within the British Royal Colleges, and consequently the Department of Health and Government.
As part of its commitment to education, the BSG hosts an annual scientific meeting during which hundreds of original papers are presented to audiences of over 2,000 professionals. This year’s meeting will explore the latest innovation, research and topical issues within the specialty – with over 275 speakers presenting on everything from ‘Managing endoscopic emergencies’, ‘What’s new in IBD’ and ‘Improving outcomes in gastrointestinal cancers’; to ‘The liver and the brain’.
