The growing body of research and guidelines, related to patient warming, are positively impacting the patient warming market. The Global Patient Temperature Management Market 2015-2019 research report, for example, forecasts that the industry will grow 7.46% (compound annual growth rate) during a five-year period.1
Key market players are developing product lines that are portable, spacesaving, and lightweight. Such compact and portable devices can be moved with the patient, from room to room if needed, throughout the entire surgical process, while vendors are increasingly offering devices that fit within the budgetary constraints of even smallsized hospitals.1
The benefits of forced-air warming in maintaining normothermia have been documented in a large number of scientific papers. However, Trusts are also now investigating the use of other methods of patient warming as the market for temperature management devices continues to expand.
