Armstrong hits funding milestone

Armstrong Healthcare, the leading image-guided surgical robotics company, has announced that it has successfully raised £1.3 million in its latest funding round.

This amount represents a significant milestone towards achieving its target of £3 million phased funding required to take the company to profitability over the next three years.

Speaking at the Venturefest 2006 Conference held in Oxford at the beginning of July, David McTurk, CEO of the High Wycombe-based company, reported that Armstrong Healthcare had met its key objectives, set in 2005, through re-modelling and re-structuring of the company and had achieved a significant breakthrough in its neurosurgery business, with the PathFinder image-guided neurosurgical localiser.

Scheduled for full international launch in 2007, PathFinder is currently in use in three centres of excellence in Europe where it is achieving superior results in some of the most critical neurosurgical procedures.
