Protection against Legionella

NEW ENERGY MANAGEMENT has announced the UK launch of the Imeca Legionella Control System. The system provides 24/7 protection against microorganisms in water systems, and has been proven to be effective against bacteria, fungi, spores, micro-plasma and viruses including Legionella and Pseudomonas.

The system not only acts directly on the polypeptide constituting the cell wall of microorganisms, causing their destruction, but also acts on the biofilm that can form a habitat and nutrient supply for Legionella pneumophila. It is effective at temperatures between 4°C and 80°C and is suitable for use in both hot and cold water systems and as a surface disinfectant agent. It has low operating costs and requires minimal maintenance as, unlike most other treatment methods which are used periodically, it works constantly throughout the day and night, keeping water systems germ free.
