WELCH ALLYN developed and launched the world’s first hand-held direct illuminating ophthalmoscope in 1915. Since then it has led the way in developing cutting-edge diagnostic equipment.
It was, for example, the first company to include halogen lamps in otoscopes and ophthalmoscopes; at the forefront in offering HPX lamps in otoscopes and ophthalmoscopes; a pioneer in lithium ion batteries for use in otoscopes and ophthalmoscopes; and was first to offer a hand-held instrument which gives a panoramic view of the fundus. Finally, it was also the first to offer a hand-held instrument giving a wide angle view of the tympanic membrane. The company also produces a family of products suited to hospital use. On show will be a connected vital signs system; vital signs devices; patient monitors, aneroid BP gauges, FlexiPort BP cuffs, and its Green series LED lights.
