Patient monitoring solutions

COVIDIEN will be demonstrating its patient monitoring product portfolio which includes Nellcor, OxiMax, Invos and BIS. The OxiMax pulse oximetry approach to applying and detecting light, and processing signals through algorithms and calibration curves, is a feature of the company’s technology.

The Invos system provides site-specific insights on perfusion adequacy and – with multisensory monitoring – perfusion distribution across the brain and body. Monitoring site specific perfusion often provides earlier warning of developing pathology and deteriorating patient conditions. BIS provides information about the patient status to help address their individual anaesthetic needs, including those who may be more sensitive to the hemodynamic effects of anaesthesia. The BIS system processes EEG information and calculates a number providing a direct measure of the patient’s level of consciousness.
