Respiratory rate monitoring

The requirement for continuous, non-invasive and reliable respiratory rate monitoring has long been recognised and the new Respiratory Rate Monitor combined with the Respi-Check mask from INTERSURGICAL has been designed to fulfil these needs.

Accurate recording of the patient’s vital signs are essential for both the emergency services and clinicians in order to decide how to treat the patient. The respiratory rate is an accurate reflection of severity of illness, and if carefully measured is a sensitive marker of accurate respiratory and metabolic dysfunction especially in the critical care setting.

Respiratory rate is continuously measured via the Respi-Check oxygen mask and shown on the digital display. Preset audible and visual alarms are activated if no breaths are detected for 10 seconds and this acts as a rapid apnoea alarm.
