ENVIRODERM SERVICES will be demonstrating instrumentation for skin condition analysis, including the Wheelsbridge Tissue Viability Imager, a digital camera and software combination that is able to generate sub-surface, high resolution images showing, for example, the relative density of dermal red blood cells.
The images, taken approximately eight minutes apart, are designed to map and quantify the increase in red blood cell density following application of a vasodilating chemical to part of the hand. The technique can also be used for other skin parameters, such as colour tracking, cellulite, wrinkles, etc. The system can measure both vasodilation and vasoconstriction. Also on display will be the Courage+Khazaka MPA 580 Cutometer which can measure a variety of skin parameters, including plasticity and elasticity, hydration, trans-epidermal water loss, melanin, colour, etc. Specialists in the application of the equipment will be on hand to discuss specific skin measurement and analysis requirements.
