The WD 430 is a new washer-disinfector from BELIMED, developed for safe reprocessing of flexible endoscopes in accordance with EN ISO 15883-1 and 15883-4.
The unit is suited to reprocessing either a single endoscope or two endoscopes simultaneously, from most widely marketed endoscope manufacturers. The new washer-disinfector is equipped with a channel rinsing system that gives assurance that every channel is cleansed and disinfected in a reproducible manner because the flow of the various process liquids is continuously monitored during each reprocessing phase. An automatic control system also ensures a consistent flow through the appropriate channels. Any channels that are not connected, are wrongly connected or blocked will be detected immediately. The tightness of the endoscopes is also permanently monitored to prevent damage from penetrating water. For most types of endoscopes the test pressure can be individually logged at the control unit. To prevent overheating, the machine controls the temperature in three ways – by standard control system, by separate sensors and by a safety thermostat. The cleaning process is carried out reproducibly according to defined settings. Documented evidence of correct endoscope reprocessing can be provided by using the company’s Infection Control Software ICS 8535. All relevant process information, such as measured values and program parameters, are directly transferred from the WD 430 onto an external PC or onto a hospital network.
