Treatment for exudating wounds

ARK THERAPEUTICS is a biotechnology company developing treatments for unmet clinical needs in the areas of vascular disease, cancer and wound care. Its wound care portfolio consists of Kerraboot, Flaminal, Kerraped, KerraMax and Kerraglove.

Kerraboot modifies the wound and lower limb environment – allowing wound fluid to drain away from the ulcer where it is locked away in a super absorbent dressing. Flaminal is a novel alginate gel with an antimicrobial enzyme system which promotes wound healing by gently debriding necrotic material and reducing bioburden without damaging the key cells involved in healing. Flaminal is available as Flaminal Forte for moderate to heavily exudating wounds and Flaminal Hydro for light to moderately exudating wounds. Kerraped is the first off-loading shoe available on prescription. It allows patients with bulky bandages to walk safely and securely. KerraMax is a super absorbent dressing designed for moderate to heavily exudating wounds. It locks exudate away even under moderate compression reducing maceration. Finally, Kerraglove, has been designed to manage hand burns by allowing excess exudate to evaporate through the film layer – keeping the hand burn moist, while discouraging maceration.
