The experience and technical expertise of two major players in the washer disinfector market have been combined, through the creation of a new company, following the acquisition of Dawmed International by the Dutch-based group WASSENBURG & CO.
John Crispin (formerly managing director of Dawmed) will be the managing director of the UK operation of Wassenburg Ltd. He first met Ronald Wassenburg when he walked onto the Dawmed stand at Medica, in 1999, looking for a suitable UK distributor for his products. A UK representative on the EU Working Group, John Crispin helped compile the new international standard BS EN ISO 15883 for washer disinfectors. Ronald Wassenburg also sat as a Dutch representative on the same group. John Crispin commented: “Our meeting brought together two people who are interested in pushing the frontiers of washer dryer technology. Our customers in the UK will continue to enjoy high levels of innovation and service from the team that they are familiar with.” Wassenburg, which makes its debut at BSG, will be showcasing its Dry 300 endoscope dryer – offering a 72-hour instrument storage period. The system is also available as a pass-through option.
