DTI offers £10 million for regenerative medicine technologies

As part of its Technology Programme £60 million Autumn competition, the DTI is offering £10 million funding for innovative collaborative projects developing technology for regenerative medicine applications.

Proposals are invited for collaborative projects in a number of priority areas including development of novel bioactive biomaterials, development of surface modifications for drug delivery and development ofdelivery systems for cell therapies. Projects may be industry oriented basic research; or applied R&D projects; or experimental development projects. Typically a project would be of two to three years duration and be seeking DTI support in the range £1-2 m. The competition opens on 24 November 2005, and a regional information day focused on regenerative medicine will take place on 9 December in London.
