A new report suggests that men are significantly more likely to develop type-2 diabetes in midlife than women.
The Diabetes in the UK 2009 report, published by Diabetes UK, shows that men between the ages of 35 and 54 years are almost twice as likely to have diabetes than females in the same age group. Around 92,960 men in England (2.4%) aged 35 to 44 years have diabetes, compared with just 47,000 (1.2%) of women.
