EBME Expo interview: improving safety and efficiency for the NHS

At EBME Expo 2025, Traka’s Healthcare Specialist Ben Farrar spoke with Clinical Services Journal (CSJ) about the challenges EBME managers face and how smarter equipment management improves availability, compliance and patient care. Traka showcased how its solutions are transforming healthcare environments – from smarter key control to secure storage of critical equipment.

Among the key challenges facing EBME Managers today is the daily headache of syringe drivers going missing in hospitals and community care settings nationwide. With this crisis costing the sector millions per year when devices are misplaced or even stolen, our already cash-strapped healthcare facilities can feel the strain.  What's more, this takes critical health staff away from their everyday roles to locate syringe drivers, putting patient care at risk. Traka's tailored solution is designed to improve process flows with custom-built syringe driver lockers.

These lockers allow staff to locate equipment quickly and easily, providing full traceability with a complete audit trail. They also allow EBME staff to concentrate on performing equipment maintenance, ensuring a pool of ready-working devices is available for those who need them.

In this exclusive interview, Ben explains how the NHS can improve safety, efficiency, and patient care through real-time access management.
