A free educational webinar is being hosted by CSJ and Arka on Thursday 21st November at 15:00 GMT, on the 'Consensus Guidelines for Best Practices in the Selection and Use of Examination Gloves in Healthcare Settings'. The guidelines have been developed by leading IPC associations in Portugal.
The document addresses critical challenges in infection prevention, antimicrobial resistance, and environmental sustainability, with a focus on the proper selection, use, and disposal of examination gloves. Developed through a Delphi process involving various experts, the document provides practical, evidence-based recommendations for healthcare professionals.

Dr. Paulo Alves - a researcher at Universidade Católica Portuguesa in wound care and patient safety, with a special focus on the use of advanced wound dressings, exudation control, and infection prevention. He is actively involved in education and research, coordinating projects on artificial intelligence in healthcare, chronic wound treatment, and initiatives aimed at improving patient safety and infection control.
Dr. David Peres - Public health Medical Doctor, certified Infection Preventionist and President of the Portuguese National Infection Control Association (ANCI), an association member of IPS.
