Effective use of wet wipes to cleanse hands

Conti Hands and Face Wet Wipes provide quick and convenient cleansing when traditional hand washing is not available, for example, after using the toilet, before or after eating or when hands are visibly dirty.

The Journal of Hospital Infection has identified that “pioneering water-safe policies, including the removal of sinks from all patient rooms, successfully improves the control of multidrug-resistant gram-negative bacteria spread in Intensive Care Units.” In situations where water use is not available or not recommended, the use of Conti cleansing wipes is the ideal solution.

How to use Wet Wipes to effectively cleanse hands:

Step 1 – Remove one wipe from the pack at a time.

Step 2 – Place the wipe between the palms of both hands and rub in a circular motion.

Step 3 -  Place wipe on back of left hand with right hand and interlace fingers – rub back and forth. Repeat on both hands.

Step 4 – Place wipe between the hands and interlace fingers – rub back and forth.

Step 5 – Using the wipe, cover the back of fingers with opposite palm and rub side to side. Repeat on both hands.

Step 6 – Cover thumb with wipe and clasp with opposite hand – rub in rotations. Repeat on both hands.

Step 7 – Place wipe on palm of hand and rub in rotation using clasped fingers. Repeat on both hands.

Step 8 – Allow hands to dry naturally.

Step 9 – Discard the used wipe in line with local policies.
