The National Performance Advisory Group (NPAG) has announced the appointment of Lawrence Barker as the new Facilitator for its Clinical Engineering Best Value Groups.
Lawrence began his career in 1984 as a Trainee Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement Technician, followed by specialising in Medical Engineering. Since then, he has worked in a variety of roles, including Medical Physics Technician, Deputy Manager, Head of Medical Engineering and Head of Medical Equipment and Bioengineering Services.
He has several part time Biomedical Engineering roles and looks forward to joining University Hospitals of Leicester in 2024. Lawrence replaces Paul Blackett, who hosted his last meeting this month.
NPAG’s role is to provide support to NHS and other public sector managers in the continuous improvement of their services. NPAG’s Best Value Groups and National Networking Groups enable members to share experiences, identify good practice, innovation and information to assist individual managers to develop their own service improvement action plans and seek continuous improvement in terms of quality, fitness-for-purpose, performance and value for money.
The organisation also hosts a number of educational workshops and conferences, including an annual Clinical Engineering Conference and a Theatres and Decontamination Conference. Visit https://www.npag.org.uk/
