FREE webinar: Jon Otter provides expert advice on how hand hygiene can reduce HCAIs

A top infection prevention expert will help to improve knowledge on hand hygiene with a FREE webinar. If you thought you knew everything you need to know about hand hygiene, think again...

Leading infection prevention expert, Jon Otter, will be speaking at the FREE Hand Hygiene webinar, taking place on Wednesday, Sep 27, 2023 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM BST.

The CSJ and Primel sponsored webinar on: “What can new innovations in hand hygiene bring to the fight against healthcare-associated infections?" will discuss the latest developments and evidence-based best practice.

There is compelling evidence that infection prevention and control interventions, including hand hygiene practices, can achieve a 35% to 70% reduction in the rates of healthcare-associated infection. This FREE webinar, sponsored by Primel, will help all those working in healthcare understand how they can make a difference and reduce the risk of transmission of healthcare-associated infections (HCAIs).

The Clinical Services Journal will be joined by Dr. Jon Otter, the director of infection prevention and control at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the National Institute for Health Research’s Health Protection Research Unit – based at Imperial College London – focusing on Healthcare Associated Infections and Antimicrobial Resistance. He will be providing an insight into the ‘why’, the ‘how’ and the ‘when’ of hand hygiene.

Jon’s educational presentation will be followed by a panel discussion around the latest innovation in this field, with a team from Primel, including Dr. Sajinder Luthra, who has a wealth of experience spanning over 35 years in academia and industry. The panel will discuss the key issues in hand hygiene, how innovation in hand hygiene solutions could provide a new weapon in the IP&C armoury, and how major steps forward in R&D could make a difference.
