B. Braun Medical appoints new UK Managing Director

One of the leading medical technology companies, B. Braun Medical, whose UK headquarters are in Sheffield, has announced the appointment of a new UK Managing Director.

Sheffield-born Michael Parden has been appointed to the role, having worked for the B. Braun Group for more than 20 years. Michael, 47, who lives with his family in Sheffield, first joined the B. Braun Group in 2001 when he joined the Aesculap Manufacturing and Technical Services division. He then assumed the role of Operations Manager at B. Braun Sterilog Ltd in 2010 and became the company's Managing Director in 2013. In 2018, he became the Division Manager for B. Braun's Aesculap business division and took over the responsibility for the B. Braun Compounding Aseptic Unit in 2021.

Michael commented: “To have been given the opportunity to lead this great company, which employs over 1400 people in the UK, is one that I am immensely proud of.

“Becoming Managing Director of B. Braun UK was always a huge ambition of mine having spent over 20 years working for the company, so naturally I am absolutely delighted to have been appointed to my new role.

“I have a very strong work ethic – which I think I have inherited from my mum, she is 84 and still works full-time.  Although I have worked for the B. Braun Group for many years, for me it is all about looking to the future and investing in our workforce.

“My vision is for the company to be seen as a flagship employer in the region and we therefore attract and retain the best people. I want each employee to have the same pride working for B. Braun which I have had throughout my career with the company and for them to understand how our products and services make a difference to those who use them.

“Our collaboration with the healthcare industry is aimed at addressing their current challenges, including workforce and bed shortages and high infection rates. B. Braun employees exemplify this collaboration through their partnership with customers, with the objective of decreasing system expenses and improving patient outcomes as well as hospital provider effectiveness.

“The objective is to achieve mutual growth and guarantee that our company continues to shape, rather than just provide, the healthcare market and deliver substantial value to our customers. B. Braun's partnerships and collaborative efforts with organisations like the NHS will have a significant impact on improving long-term patient outcomes.

“As a Sheffield native, I take great pride in my roots, having been born and raised in this city. I proudly represent Sheffield wherever I go. I am excited about collaborating with the business community in Sheffield and the surrounding regions, ensuring that B. Braun is deeply integrated into the local community and at the forefront of patient care nationally."
