Caring for the environment

The latest generation PlasmaBAG™, the PlasmaBAG ECO™, is produced with 80% recycled Polyethylene and holds the German eco label ‘Blue Angel’. It is one example of PENTAX Medical’s continuous journey to sustainability, developing solutions that need less to achieve more.

Enhanced hygiene and patient safety

Reusable and semi-disposable endoscopes are often used in standard procedures, so safe and effective reprocessing is crucial. The PENTAX Medical PlasmaTYPHOON™+ and PlasmaBAG system is a unique reprocessing solution for fast drying and active storage of endoscopes.

The PlasmaTYPHOON+ dries endoscopes of all major brands even faster than before in just 1 to 3 minutes, maintaining strong hygiene standards and enhanced safety for every patient. In combination with complete drying, storage of the endoscope in the PlasmaBAG ensures the preservation of its disinfected state for up to 31 days.1

Offering a sustainable alternative

Compared to other drying and storage solutions, the PlasmaTYPHOON+ and PlasmaBAG system is not only smaller in footprint, but also offers unlimited storage capacity. The storage solution makes reusable endoscopes available whenever and wherever needed; offering a sustainable alternative to single-use endoscopes. The PlasmaBAG ECO, made with 80% recycled Polyethylene, now provides an even more sustainable option for healthcare professionals.

Prof. Rocco Trisolini, Director Interventional Pulmonology Unit, Fondazione Policlinico Universitario A. Gemelli (Rome, Italy), comments on the advantages of the new system: “The PlasmaTYPHOON+ is the perfect compact solution for us, contributing to an overall reduction in time, cost and space needed. Being able to store the endoscope in the PlasmaBAG for up to 31 days, the endoscope is ready to use for our patients at any time.”

Reference

1. Validated for up to 744 storage hours (31 days) according to NF EN 16442 norm. The maximum storage time may be subject to local regulations on endoscope storage.
