After over two years without a face-to-face meeting, the BSG Annual Meeting, BSG LIVE, will take place at The ICC, Birmingham on the 20-23 June 2022.
The event will bring the gastroenterology and hepatology community to Birmingham for an in-person event with the aim of:
- Educating members on state-of-the-art investigation and management, as well as new developments in all fields of gastroenterology and hepatology
- Providing high quality CPD for members
- Allowing researchers in all gastroenterology related fields to present, share, and discuss their findings
- Encouraging and enabling collaborative working and research in all fields of gastroenterology and hepatology
The BSG is bringing back popular features such as the Monday Masterclass, Endoscopy Village, and Meet the Experts sessions. A number of exciting new initiatives such as a Wellbeing zone and a dedicated space for Digital Health and Innovation will also be launched. In addition to plenary and section-based sessions covering the breadth of gastroenterology, there will be several major new symposia including Sustainability in Gastroenterology, Mentoring, and “How to avoid Burnout”.
Among the highlights include presentations on three important guidelines, featuring evidence-based recommendations on the use of qFIT, eosinophilic esophagitis, and functional dyspepsia. There will be discussion of the microbiome, with the aim of furthering our understanding of “the new frontier”; forward-looking discussion of the “NHS in 2032”; a lecture on fatty liver and whether liver biopsy is required, and much, much more.
