The Institute for Decontamination Sciences (IDSc) has recently endorsed the programme of City & Guilds Accredited training courses run by Lancer Academy for decontamination of endoscopes and instruments.
In its expanded programme for 2008, Lancer Academy is keen to emphasise that most of the training courses are universal, suitable for any type or make of AER and are not just for Lancer equipment. Indeed the two and a half day course for Designated Users in endoscope decontamination is for the management and understanding of the whole process including latest legislation, duties and responsibilities. City & Guilds accredited
The one day courses start at £99 and among the most popular have been those for Daily & Weekly Testing and for the Complete Endoscope Decontamination Process. For the convenience of clients, most courses are offered at Lancer’s northern facilities at Runcorn as well as Cambridge HQ and the dates are spread throughout the year.
The Full Operators Course for Lancer Fibro Cleaner AER is now City & Guilds Accredited and there are 13 dates to choose from in 2008. Going beyond the original product training, its aim is to ensure learners will be able to operate the AER with confidence, understand all aspects of the process and continue to develop skills when returning to the workplace. Course leader Helen Ashwell (a nurse and endoscopy professional) puts its success down to value for money…. “Its just £99 for a full day of practical, hands-on training! The feedback has been great, especially to do with increased confidence, more efficient decontamination procedures and savings in call outs or downtime. Delegates also find it is much easier to take just one day out of busy hospital schedules.”
Lancer Academy is pleased to be able to hold prices at last years level. To book a place or for more information on the full range of course offered, use the enquiry number or email helen@lancer.co.uk
