NHS England has today welcomed the publication of updated risk assessment guidance which provides practical measures to advance the way risk assessments are carried out for BAME, at risk and other vulnerable staff groups working across the NHS.
Risk assessments for staff, produced by NHS Employers, provides more detailed support to allow NHS line managers to address areas in one to one conversations with employees who may be at higher risk of developing symptoms leading to Covid-19.
The guidance, available on the NHS Employers website, follows earlier advice from NHS England (29 April).
It also signposts to a number of other resources and toolkits – carried out by trusts and external organisations, including guidance from the Health and Safety Executive along with additional information on mental health support and wellbeing advice for NHS staff. Many NHS organisations have already used these resources to update their own processes and carry out new risk assessments. The updated guidance is available to all NHS trusts and healthcare providers.
