GAMA Healthcare, a UK-based company in the field of infection prevention technology, is leading the fight against the spread of Wuhan Novel Coronavirus. The GAMA China team have played a pivotal role in getting the disinfectant products to the worst affected areas.
GAMA produces Clinell Universal, Clinell Sporicidal Wipes and Clinell Antimicrobial Hand Wipes, that are all proven to be effective against the virus, which is thought to have emerged earlier this month from a seafood market in Wuhan, China.
Having spread to 7,700 cases in China with cases found in at least other 15 countries, governments are scrambling to respond to the virus whilst a vaccine is developed. The virus is believed to spread through direct human contact, indirect contact via contaminated surfaces, coughing, and possibly through the air if aerosolised.
The current lack of vaccine means responders are focusing on limiting the spread of the disease through the use of infection prevention products. Unsuspecting healthcare workers themselves can facilitate the spread of coronavirus if they don’t follow best practice. It is vital they are equipped with disinfectant products that are suitably effective. Wipes which are not effective against coronavirus risk undermining efforts to prevent further spread, especially if they are not disposed of properly.
