The National Performance Advisory Group (NPAG) has announced details of a one day conference aimed at NHS managers, integrated managers and SPQ students within district nursing.
The National District Nurses Conference takes place on Tuesday 10 December 2019 at Manchester Conference Centre, and will provide an opportunity for attendees to hear key presentations on current issues which are not only affecting the NHS, but are also high on the national political and environmental agendas.
The conference programme will focus on the promotion and importance of district nursing leadership in the integrated care.
The agenda includes:
- Future of SPQ
- The Manchester approach to integrated care
- Queens Nursing Institute
- NHS England—Nurse leadership and the long term plan
These will provide delegates with a good overview of the many issues that surround these topics.
Delegates will have access to an exhibition throughout the day, with plenty of opportunity to network with representatives from the district nursing industry and other delegates.
Margaret Pitt, district nurse practice teacher, Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, said: “Having been a member of this group for the past four years I have found the networking with other likeminded people to be of most value.
"This has enabled a country wide perspective on issues pertaining to District Nursing which have influence and helped shape the development of strategies and polices to the betterment of patient care delivery. The meetings are well structured and provide an environment for sharing and disseminating information keeping the membership up to date with current and future plans affecting community services.
"The group work done at the meetings to influence higher strategic policy and national standards has been of a positive benefit to district nursing.”
