All members of AfPP currently working in perioperative care at any level are being encouraged to apply for a place on an exclusive personal development programme sponsored by 3M Health Care and the Association for Perioperative Practice (AfPP).
The Academy comprises five one day workshops running from February to July with content specially tailored to the needs of perioperative practitioners and is facilitated by expert training consultants.
Topics include:
• Communication – helping improve overall communication, including clarity and negotiating skills.
• Managing change – increasing ability to cope with ever-changing work environments, advice on encouraging ‘buy-in’ and helping to manage teams effectively.
• Legal issues affecting health care professionals – offering discussion and advice on the legal issues impacting the healthcare professional’s role.
• Personal effectiveness – increasing assertiveness, confidence and adaptability.
• Leadership – building confidence and developing an individual’s ability to lead and develop teams.
Ten delegates will be selected by a panel and the closing date is 14 December 2007.
