Orthopaedic education and research

JOINT REPLACEMENT INSTRUMENTATION (JRI) was founded in 1969 by Mr Ronald Furlong, FRCS. Following his death in 2002 and that of his widow Eileen in 2003, their estate, including 100% ownership of JRI, was bequeathed to The Furlong Research Foundation, a registered charity which they founded with the express purpose of supporting orthopaedic education and research.

JRI gives a significant portion of its profits to the Foundation, which in turn supports research projects among the orthopaedic community.
