GAMA Healthcare, a leading supplier of disinfectant wipes and infection prevention solutions to the NHS, has been named in the Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200 for the third year running.
The Track 200 ranks Britain’s mid-market private companies with the fastest-growing international sales, measured over their latest two years of available accounts.
This is the third consecutive year they have been named in the list, coming in at 84 out of 200, climbing from 99th place last year.
GAMA, which was established in 2004 by two junior doctors, Guy Braverman and Allen Hanouka, developed a single universal disinfectant wipe that was effective on a range of healthcare acquired infections, at a time when it was traditional to use a two-step approach of first cleaning then disinfecting surfaces and equipment in hospitals.
Since then, the business has grown rapidly, with more than 130 employees and a new £4 million R&D facility in Halifax, West Yorkshire, completed and to be officially opened in March. Their products are increasingly sought overseas, now selling to 60 countries worldwide, particularly in China and Australia, where they have opened up offices.
This follows their recognition in the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade in 2018. The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are awarded by the Palace and last for 5 years from appointment. Previous winners include British Land, World First and the shirt retailer Charles Tyrwhitt.
Commenting, Dr Guy Braverman, co-founder and managing director, said: “We are honoured to be named for the third year running in the Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200. It is a fitting recognition of the hard work of GAMA’s team stretching from Watford to Australia, and of the increasing role that GAMA are playing at the forefront of infection prevention.”
Dr Allen Hanouka, co-founder and managing director, added: “It is great to see the global demand for our products and the work of our international staff recognised. We’re delighted to be climbing the rankings in the Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200, and look forward to continuing and building on this success.”
