Infection prevention under the spotlight

Visitors to the 2019 Infection Prevention and Control Conference will be given the opportunity to learn about the latest research, science, innovation, and discover real-world solutions in the challenge against infection prevention. CSJ takes a look at what else delegates can expect.

IPC2019, organised by Knowlex, takes place on 27 February 2019 at The Brewery, London, and features a day packed with 20 educational sessions presented by a broad range of keynote speakers. Visitors can also explore the exhibition hall and learn about the latest scientific advances in equipment and devices.

In 2016 Former Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt launched new plans to reduce infections in the NHS. He announced government plans to halve the number of gram-negative bloodstream infections by 2020. The programme of actions included the Serious Infection CQUIN 2017-2019.

At IPC2019, together with 500 colleagues from across the ‘whole health economy’, the CQUIN results will be reviewed and examined to see what progress is still required to achieve the 2020 targets in infection prevention & control.
