Medica Group appoints new chief technical officer

Medica Group, a leading provider of teleradiology services, has announced the appointment of Marc O’Brien for the newly created role of chief technical officer (CTO).

As CTO, Marc will be responsible for developing and directing the technology strategy for the business. His appointment will help to ensure that Medica remains informed about developments at the forefront of technology and focuses on the most effective and innovative ways to deliver its services.

Marc brings a wealth of expertise and familiarity with the sector to Medica. Most recently, he served as Chief Information Officer at InHealth, the diagnostics and healthcare solutions provider, where he developed and delivered their digital and technical strategy. Prior to his time at InHealth, he worked for Viapath and was a member of the team that founded Spire Healthcare, which is now a constituent of the FTSE 250 index.

Marc joins a number of recent hires at Medica across Operations and Technology, including Ian Edwards (MBCS) who joined the Company as Information Security Manager in September 2018.

Commenting on his appointment, Marc O’Brien said: “I am excited to be part of Medica where my priority will be to facilitate clinically safe growth of the organisation through the delivery of a technology strategy. This will enable the Group to improve on its already excellent service delivery whilst ensuring the service is underpinned by the most clinically safe, innovative and secure technology.”

John Graham, chief executive officer of Medica, added: “We are delighted to welcome Marc who is a key addition to the leadership team. His knowledge of technological systems and infrastructure will be invaluable as we look to increase our radiology capacity by building a global network of specialists to meet a growing demand for our services.

“Our recent appointments represent significant hires for Medica Group. We are further strengthening our operational team and continue to invest in developing our technology, operational improvement and advance our approach to innovation as we strive for excellence.”
