Nanosonics unveils 'world’s most advanced ultrasound high level disinfection system'

The latest ultrasound probe high level disinfection innovation featuring an enhanced design, simple and fast workflows, plus digital recording keeping, has been launched by infection prevention specialist Nanosonics.

According to Nanosonics, the new trophon2 follows in the steps of the trophon EPR technology which reengineered ultrasound reprocessing.

Bryn Tudor Owen, Nanosonics country manager for UK and Ireland said: “With trophon2, Nanosonics has gone further in providing the world’s most advanced ultrasound high level disinfection solution offering smarter protection, flexibility, functionality, traceability and integration.”

New features include a redesigned chamber for existing and future probe designs, functionality designed to further optimise point-of-care usage and improve clinical workflows, a large hd colour touch screen with animations; quiet operation; and a range of programmable options.

Central to trophon2 is a new software platform which has been developed in a bid to deliver superior capabilities, including the AcuTrace feature for digital traceability and documentation of disinfection cycles through RFID technology which is embedded in ultrasound probe tags, operator cards, disinfectant bottles and chemical indicators. trophon2 can also store more than 100,000 disinfection records.

An optional AcuTrace PLUS digital connectivity enables trophon2 to be integrated with hospital IT systems, enabling users to verify that any probe, at any moment in time, has been successfully disinfected.
